Report of the training sessions in South Africa
    Type
    Report
    Description
WIKWIO training sessions were carried out in three of the nine provinces of South Africa, namely Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Western Cape from 18 to 26 July 2016. The training project is the result of four months preparations and organization, benefitting the close collaboration of Dr. Charlie Reinhardt, dean of the Villa Academy (http://www.villaacademy.co.za/) in Johannesburg. It has been organized in the cities of Johannesburg (Gauteng), Nelspruit/Mbombela (Mpumalanga) and Stellenbosch (Western Cape) with the respective support of the Villa Academy, Mpumalanga University and Stellenbosch University. At each venue, 17 to 19 participants attended the training sessions which were programmed on two days. The main aim of this mission was to enable stakeholders in South Africa involved in agricultural productions to have easy access to knowledge on weeds for their management through the WIKWIO Portal.

IMPACT OF WEEDS MANAGEMENT ON THE FLORISTIC COMPOSITION AND ABUNDANCE OF THE COVER IN CITRUS ORCHARDS: A STEP TO CONSERVATION BIOLOGICAL CONTROL
    Type
    Poster
    Description
Ground cover management in a pluriannual experiment impacts the plant community component of the ground cover in orchards. These results reveal that producers can directly act on the type of vegetation. Parallel studies are in process to assess plant functional diversity following ground cover perturbations and its impacts on natural ennemies to foster conservation biological control. The perspective is to determine the most appropriate mangement and its frequency of implementation that lead to an establishment of habitats for natural enemies.

Etude de la phénologie et des traits de réponse aux pratiques culturales des espèces végétales d'intérêt pour la lutte biologique en vergers d'agrumes à la Réunion
    Type
    Report
    Description

Weed Control with a Cover Crop (Neonotonia wightii) in Mandarin Orchards in Guadeloupe (FWI)
    Type
    Journal Article
    Description
Weed management is an important point of citrus production in Guadeloupe (French West Indies). Orchards are traditionally planted on sloping ground, and the use of herbicides regularly sprayed on the whole farm is the most common practice. Such a practice impacts the environment and the production benefits. Introduction of cover crops on these orchards is an interesting alternative.
